Nobody’s Girl by Virginia Roberts Giuffre This is a super important book and I think everyone needs to read it. Virginia Giuffre was in Jeffrey Epstein’s stable of girls. In this book she bravely tells her story about the abuse she endured in her childhood and the eventual recruitment by Ghislane Maxwell. We need to trust the women involved, and she’s telling us everything. Because of her, the former Prince Andrew has been stripped of his title. This, my friends, is the tip of the iceberg.

Atmosphere by Taylor Jenkins Reid  TJR you have done it again. This one takes place in the 80s. Joan is an astronomy professor who applies for a job as an astronaut at NASA. She trains for a shuttle mission. You can tell Jenkins researched the hell out of this. It details Joan’s time in the program and befriending the other astronauts on her team. In particular she befriends Vanessa, who becomes more than a friend and Joan’s first same sex lover. The story starts out with Vanessa on the shuttle completing a mission when the shuttle gets fatally damaged and the other members of the crew are gravely injured or killed. Joan is working on mission control trying to hold in her fear as the secret love of her life is in peril. Then the story shifts back to starting training and the events that brought them to that point. A brilliant story.
