Reading a series isn't always my thing. And the reason for that is because I read so many books I forget when I've started a series. Then I go and read a zillion of other books and then forget I started a series. Because I've read other books by Gail Ward Olmsted I kept this series on my radar. Boy am I glad I did.

Let me tell you about Miranda. Miranda Quinn is an attorney who got disgraced off of a very high profile case where a rapist went free. She never forgave herself for it. She then started a legal advice blog which then turned in to a call in radio advice show. What I love about Miranda's character is that she is so believable. She pivoted and started a new career, like a lot of women do, and she was crushing it. But she was still so completely cool and engaged in other areas of her life too. And I like that Olmsted illustrated all of that in addition to the main plot.

It's a fantastic series. You really should check it out. Here's all 3 in one place so you can learn more about this awesome author.

Miranda Writes Gail Olmsted has done it again. Miranda is a former prosecutor who was disgraced off of a high profile case and a rapist went free.  Her key witness skipped town at the last minute.  Now it’s years later and she has pulled her life back together.  She started a legal advice blog and podcast and attracted the attention and is on the verge of getting her own syndicated daytime TV talk show.  But the rapist on that case is back on trial and the witness who skipped town is back and ready to testify again.  She encounters some ugliness with the defense trying to silence her witness again and she learns why that witness took off back then.  With all the drama will her producers drop her and not produce her talk show? This one ratchets up the stakes on many fronts.

Miranda Nights  OMG! I loved this one. In this one Miranda is the host of a night time legal talk show, and she has a guy call in who says creepy things.  The guy turns into a full on stalker and she has to figure out who he is.  I love that she also has some subplots going on too—her best friend’s teenage son is charged with distribution of child pornography when pictures of him being intimate with his also teenaged girlfriend are hacked and shared, and her stepmom has a health scare. Olmsted has Miranda navigate all this stuff all while she’s trying to keep her career as a talk show host going while being stalked by a psycho. A great read!

BJ Knapp author of Beside the Music enjoyed Miranda Fights by Gail Ward Olmsted.

Miranda Fights There’s something awesome and sad about getting to the end of a trilogy. Like, I love seeing the story get all wrapped up and everything is all tidy. But them I am sad that I can’t read about these characters anymore In this one Miranda Quinn is a lawyer working for legal aid, specifically with teens who have had their share of legal troubles and trying to help get them on the right track again. One of her clients is the daughter of an old friend from high school she’d had a falling out with. Via this daughter she learns that there is a ring of sex traffickers kidnapping young women from the group home where this daughter lives. Together the two of them figure out where the girls are going and help bring it all down. I absolutely LOVE the Miranda Quinn character, she’s such a badass. I will miss this series. A lot.
